Odissi Exams

Students of Deepam will be given a choice to appear for either the internal Deepam Odissi Exam or the Pracheen Kala Kendra Exam (External Odissi Examination). Both exams will include theory and practical knowledge of Odissi.

PRACHEEN KALA KENDRA EXAM

The Pracheen Kala Kendra paper will be set and evaluated in Chandighar, India.

Students will appear for the paper at the local center in Oman.

The papers will be sent to the main center in Chandighar for evaluation and the final certificate will be mailed back to all the students appearing for the paper.

This is an official exam affiliated to the Pracheen Kala Kendra University.

  • Prarambhik (2 year Preliminary Course)

    Bhushan (3-year course after Prarambhik)

    Visharad (2-year course after Bhushan) is treated as equivalent to Bachelor degree in Odissi Dance .

    Bhaskar (2-year course after Visharad) is treated as equivalent to Post-Graduate qualification in Odissi Dance .

    Churamani (Minimum 3-year research after Bhaskar under the guidance of celebrated Indian scholars in the relevant subject) is a Research title.

DEEPAM EXAM

The Deepam Internal paper will be set and evaluated by Guru Deepak Roy.

Students will appear for the paper during regular Deepam classes.

This exam is conducted solely for the purpose of understanding how much the students have learnt during their time at Deepam. A final mark sheet and certification of completion will be presented to all students who appear for the exam
